This Halloween, the scariest of characters gathered for a spooktacular evening at Captify’s HQ for our take on the ‘Bake off’ – the ‘Boo off’. All teams from Finance to Trading were challenged with dressing up and building a showstopper cake to rival Nigella’s darkest fantasies. Some of us got more of a fright than we bargained for when the Publisher Partnerships strutted into the office dressed as the Spice Girls.
Captify’s resident ‘boo off’ judges, Co-founders Dom and Adam, were tasked with tasting ALL of the terrific creations, from Spooky Booky Sales ghostly cupcakes to Marketing’s Scary Berry chocolate graveyard. There were prizes awarded for most creative, best tasting and overall winner…hats off to Finance for bringing out their inner creativity to scoop the overall prize. Afterwards, the cakes were auctioned off to the highest bidder, with some Captifiers summoning their inner Frankensteins in hope of creating a masterpiece worthy of a grand prize.
All puns aside…this event was in aid of a charity very close to our hearts. The Saltpond Education Project is a small, grassroots organisation aimed at helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable children in Saltpond, Ghana. Without this incredible charity, these children would be trapped in poverty and wouldn’t have access to the education that they deserve. Find out more about all the amazing work they do here.
Across the night, Captifiers raised over £3,000! To put this into perspective…this donation has allowed Saltpond to sign a lease for new land to build a Secondary school, which will make a life-changing difference to the lives of underprivileged children.
Watch this space as we aim to fundraise even more with the return of Media Rocks in February!
